10 Products on My Wishlist This Year! - Holiday Gift Guide 2020

Posted by Katrina Darwin on

Christmas is just around the corner, and that means it's time to start thinking about presents! I know, I know, Christmas is not all about giving and getting gifts, but it is really fun to scope out what the other small businesses have available. I have carefully selected 10 of my favorite products that are being sold by small businesses in hopes that it sparks inspiration for your gifting process!

Note: All of the opinions of these products and shops are completely my own, I am not being paid to promote any of these products or shops and none of the links are affiliate links. I make no money by sharing these businesses, I am sharing these in order to bring more attention to some incredible shops and hopefully spread the love for small businesses.

1) Cat Bus Enamel Pin by Be Magical Studio

I am a huge fan of all things Studio Ghibli, so this Cat Bus pin is right up my alley! I only watched My Neighbor Totoro for the first time about 4 years ago, when it was recommended to me by a university professor, and I fell in love. Super cute cartoon cats are definitely the way to my heart!

2) Pumpkin Jiji by Black Wanda Shop

I seem to have a theme going on with this wishlist, cartoon cats. Jiji is my favorite of all of the Ghibli characters, and Kiki's Delivery Service is my favorite movie, ever since I was a little kid. I rediscovered my love of Kiki's Delivery Service last year when I got a Jiji tattoo, and I've been getting all of the Jiji merch since!

3) Small Business Mug by The Crybaby Club

This mug hits me right in the feels! Although this business isn't my main income anymore, when it was my full-time job I always had people saying "how is your little business" and that irritated the HELL out of me. It may be a small business, but my god the effort that goes into it is not small in anyway. When I was in business school, one of my professors told us "An entrepreneur will work 80 hours a week in order to avoid working 40 hours a week" and that is absolutely true.

4) Cherry Blossom Kitten Mini Print by Carys Cuttlefish

I only just discovered Carys Cuttlefish, but I have a new love. She has so many beautiful prints that I couldn't decide which one I wanted to feature, but ultimately this one has my favorite colors and KITTENS! She also has some amazing Pokemon x Sailor Moon mashups that are heckin' adorable!

5) Rainbow Variety Sticker Set of 10 Mental Health Stickers by Self Love Tool Chest

I am a HUGE advocate for mental health and mental illnesses, especially in destigmatizing them and making resources accessible for those who need it, and these stickers are just so cute and such a fun way to give yourself a little boost. I have chronic mental illness and some days I just cannot, but seeing something cute and cheerful like these stickers gives me a few seconds of joy, and that may be enough to get someone out of a depressive state. It doesn't always work, but there is no harm in surrounding yourself in beautiful and upbeat things!

6) Holographic Galaxy Rose Sticker by Crashing Cadence

I love roses, I love all shades of blue, and I love sparkly things. What more can I say about this? Kara is also an incredibly talented tattoo artist and I fully plan to get some artwork from her in the future, so stickers is a fun way to start my art collection from her.

7) Kawaii Halloween Memo Pad by Katnipp Illustrations

Lists are one of the few things that help me to maintain my shreds of sanity, and sometimes it's more fun to use fancy paper than a plain notebook. It's an added bonus that this one has cats on it.

8) Jiji and Lily Print by Witch Visions

LOOK AT HOW CUTE THESE TWO ARE I JUST CANNOT! Ahem, if you couldn't tell by the rest of this list, I like anime cats. Anime cats in love are an added bonus.

9) Happy Birthday Retro Style Greeting Card by Kate Gabrielle

I wouldn't exactly call myself a "retro lover" but there is something about the combination of turquoise and hot pink that always makes me smile. Heck, if you have ever seen me in real life I am usually wearing at least one of these colors at all times. And although birthday cards wouldn't typically be on a holiday gift list, my birthday is December 12, so it fits for me.

10) Professional Overthinker Vinyl Sticker by Hand Over Your Fairy Cakes

If overthinking was a profession, I would be in the top tier of the pay grade. It comes with the anxiety territory, and it's something I always deal with, even if I hide it very well. This sticker says how I feel in a cheery and colorful way.
